Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere--
Anyone know if Delta miles can be used for upgrades on VS tickets?
Thanks,
RR

99.999% sure you can't - they can only be used for "full" flight awards.

Long shot thought-- but thanks. Getting a bit nervous about Delta's future and wondering what to do with 25K miles on short expiry....uninclined to add more just to keep the account alive. My miles flown on Delta have long gone directly to enrich my VS FC account (along with tier points) so wondering what to do about these orphans.
Cheers,
RR

What about using their "
Magazines for Miles" scheme?
They have a 12 month subscription to magazines such as wired for 500 miles [:0]
(LOTS of Christmas presents, maybe?

Sigh--I suppose that's what it might get reduced to, magazines for miles. Seems a shame though. Shouldn't miles really be well, for miles? Have a Delta flight to SFO Friday, perhaps they'll let me (non medallion) use them for an upgrade then...but doubt it as medallion usually snarf them all. Plus...UG on Delta is somehow so sad compared to VS. I don't really need nor want drinks on my way to work at 6 am...and that is largely all one really gets besides a bit more leg room on a tired seat.

Although 25k DL miles is enough for domestic USA round trip. Wouldn't that be more fun?
You could always request a voucher to redeem on CO perhaps? They're not in Chpt 11 (yet!).

Thanks for that--an excellent idea. Not that mag subs are not rewarding as well, but a bit bleak when compared to flight.

Worth noting though, DL is adding some new services etc. This doesn't look like the action of a carrier about to go out of service. Might be worth holding on to you miles... You never know..
