Has anyone experienced the crew greet them onboard as a gold card member?

Yes, it's FC status is generally marked on the passenger manifest. If you stroll past the galley you'll frequently see a passenger list with annotations re: status etc.

A short while back I got a personal welcome (& a glass of bubbly) from the FSM just after I took my seat in economy! I asked the nice lady why I was getting this special treatment and she said "we like to look after our frequent fliers"
I was quite surprised because I am only Ag this year, although I was Au for the previous two years, and my cheapskate employer only ever buys me the cheapest possible economy tickets [:(!]
Its not happened since though.

I've had this once on a flight from IAD to LHR in PE which was pretty quiet, but the next three flights in PE and so far I've had nothing.

I think I'd have been a bit embarrassed, had I been sat in econ, but received such obvious attention from the FA. A quiet welcome would have been quite nice, but bubbly.. hmmm.. did you get any accidental kicks in the back of your seat during the flight?!
