Does this mean another new clubhouse before the Olympics, or additional facilities and flights in the new "Heathrow East"?

V interesting. Not many will be sorry to see T2 go but I thought Virgin we're planning on major expansion in T3 in the last update?

Fascinating pictures of the proposals [url=http://www.heathrowairport.com/portal/controller/dispatcher.jsp?CiID=7013471fe7f67010VgnVCM10000036821c0a____&ChID=ac4597dc2eb12010VgnVCM100000147e120a____&Ct=B2C_CT_PRESS_RELEASE&CtID=a22889d8759a0010VgnVCM200000357e120a____&Ch=All+Press+Releases&ChPath=Home%5ECorporate%5EAll+Press+Releases&ChIDPath=caf397dc2eb12010VgnVCM100000147e120a____^2292ea0bb0022010VgnVCM100000147e120a____^ac4597dc2eb12010VgnVCM100000147e120a____#anchor1]here[/url]

Fascinating - was thinking the other day that once T5 opened there would be excess capacity and the chance to transform the central area.

Can't see it being a reality for the Olympic though.

It will be here in time for the Olympics- it will have to be and i can assure you that the government, baa, the boa, the organising committee etc will make sure it will be otherwise london like atlanta was will be considered a disaster- we cannot afford to have heathrow let us down.

The pdf presentation makes for some interesting read. A couple of pointers:

Page 6 shows the expected movement of airlines after T5 opens.

Hmm, so *A goes to T1 and OneWorld to T3, VS ar ecloser to *A than One World so no idea what would happen there! VS moving to T2 would be interesting, by the sound of it T2 would be *A airlines + VS (who are as good as a memebr of *A with their partner list ;) )

Yeh so post T5 being finished and prior to heathrow east you have:

T1- Star Alliance and VS
T2- Knocked down for HEathrow East
T3- One World (IB,AA,CX,FI,QF,EI GF?)
t4- Skyteam (KE,AF,KL,Czech, etc) and the likes of EK
t5- BA

Then once Heathrow East is done Star and VS move in.

Makes sense for VS to go with star alliance- will mean that codeshares with BD will increase due to better flight connections etc- exciting times ahead!

VS should get their own terminal and make things easier.
