Well, phoned Flying Club (could not wait for the web to go on line) and am VERY happy with the seat allocation!
Yes, the FC operator said "you can book 336 days in advance now"

Happy, happy bunny, especially with the choice

Me, the wife and sprog are in 7 A, C & H on both sectors (LGW-MCO-LGW)

Then booked Granny.
The farthest forward row in economy they can book over the phone (Can you change in Twilight check in??) is Row 34, so, Row 34C booked out bound, then I asked for the Holy Grail
"Yes, 62A is available on the home bound sector :-) :-0
Operator said I like this 336 day check in as up to now as soon as the 180 day opened, these seats went within the hour

Very happy. Thank You SRB!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Interesting.......
On the VA web site the seat plans for our UC flights are now available, whilst the seat plans for the MIL in Economy are still showing "Seats allocate` at chack in" even though we have pre booked, so either econ will come on line later than UC (and PE?) or iyts because she got her ticket via air miles...
But anyway, the web site might be ahead of 19th April for 336 day pre book?

Just a couple of things about the VA web site seat plan.
1) it shows upstairs for the VS027 8th Jan as only having 12 seats up stairs and the stairs themselves at the front. Isn't this the layout for 747-200?

2) downstairs in UC it shows a beauty area not a bar between rows 8 & 9, plus no seats between rows 9 and 17. Again, is this 747-200?

Is the VA`web site wrong or is LGW-MCOI being downgraded to 747-200's??

It's possible that they might be fitting out some of the LGW 747 fleet with UCS at that time, so using a 747-200 to cover. Mind you, with some of the accelerated progress they're making on the Suites, plans that far ahead might change.

Hi Alan

I'm sure the VS map is wrong. This happened to me on my recent LGW/MCO booking - but the actual aircraft were normal LGW 744.
