VS offers interest free credit?

As you can see from below, we have two upcoming UC flights in the next 5 months. Our BGI flight was booked back in June, the EWR/JFK flight last week. Thing is, VS don't seem to want us to pay for them. mdvipond jr. didn't enter the world until October, so we understood that payment couldn't be taken until we had a name for her. However, I've just spoken with silver club, and they're now saying that payment for paper tickets when an infant is involved won't be taken until 2 weeks before the flight.

Now, all this interest free credit is fine by me, but it's left me a teeny bit concerned that our seats - or worse - flights could be mucked about/cancelled until payment is made. Anyone with wee ones experienced this before? Anyone able to allay my fears...?

It is pretty normal for payment not to be taken until just a few weeks before travel.

You have nothing to worry about.

Many thanks for that, Declan. I was pretty sure that was the case, but conflicting comments from various calls to silver club had got us a little worried. When we 'phoned to give them mdvipond jr.'s details in October we were told to expect payment to be taken 'in the next 48 hours'. Same again when we called last month. Thanks for the reassurance.

Unless you are Gold or flying in Upper, as tickets are processed as a priority and are normally done within 96 hours.

Thanks,
Richard

I've had situations where I had full fare tickets not charged until after the flight, so I wouldn't worry about it :).

Also a friend of mine booked a cheapo discount economy ticket on VS, but somehow credit card charge failed so she was asked to pay at Heathrow.

cheers
