V-Flyer

Looks like the gal who made the flight attendant film "The Aviary" got some bad news for the holidays. Man, the Airlines sure take this PR stuff seriously (perhaps feeding us on flights and not loosing our luggage would suffice [:?]).

Unfortunately, it's a well known fact that most large (and many small) American (and multi-national) corporations have no grace, no sense of humour, and no respect for an employee's freedom of speech or civil liberties.

They always behave like they have something to prove, and will send in the lawyers over a storm in a teacup. I've not seen this film, but it doesn't sound like she defamed her employer or brought them into disrepute - but IANAL.

What a sad, litigious, humourless, untrusting society we've made for ourselves.

I agree. I have seen the film (many times) and tried to figure out which airline she worked for with no success. The company is never mentioned in the film or even indicated. I read that it is United and if that's true they are truly pathetic. After all they have put their employees through (not to mention those of us who still bought tickets and propped them up while they were "bankrupt" this is really low.

Why do these big companies behave like this. I can honestly say, I will think twice before buying a ticket from them.

Is the movie worth it?

Im sorry to be so sad, and maybe I shouldnt even say but I speculated it to be either United or American. Now, I cant remeber the reason for American but in the scene when the passenger asks for another drink and she says no, the other FA comes up and says "He's a 1K" - the top tier of United programme, I believe.

I think it looks like UAL too.

Don't i know it! I had a disagreement with one of the UK's mobile phone companies. Apparently they didn't think the future was going to be pink afterall, but they did think people could get the personal website of a camp gay man and a large multi-national telecommunications firm mixed up.

Her company sucks in my opinion.

Looks like she's decided not to keep fighting for her job though.
