Hi,
I took the 12 back from BOS on 1/1/06 in PE , got to check in to find that I had been allocated 70A + 70C for the tuther half. Is it now practice for VS to allocate exits before check-in?? Or is this just a Premium issue or one off????

Given your described height perhaps they added a note to your PNR

How early did you get to check-in?
I have often been offered the exit row when travelling PE, i'm usually at check-in fairly early (3-4 hours before the flight) which i found odd (not that im complaining) as im hardly tall and dont really warrant the extra room over some taller passengers, its just noteworthy that i have been offered these seats (without asking) so early on in the day of checking passengers in.
Im guessing they have to give it to someone, and as Decker says, they know someone of your height would obviously appreciate it.

Got to checkin about 3 hours before and asked for 70H+K, as for some silly reason I prefer the right hand side of a 744??? Don't ask why?!?!?!?! Got told by agent I had been pre-assigned 70A+C..........?
What is your PNR by the way????

For some reason i prefer 70A, the left hand side of a boeing. but jesus you have to get there early to grab it.[V]

Bit OT but can I just point out the nautical flavour to this thread - prawns, whitefish and sailors

Well I thought it was funny - but then I'm having one of those sorts of days.

What is your PNR by the way????
Passenger/Personal Name Record. Your PNR contains all of your details for a specific booking, such as your personal info, flight details, classes etc etc.
For some reason i prefer 70A, the left hand side of a boeing.
Im a right hand side person, always choose the H&K side of PE if i can (unless its 79 A&C of course

)
but jesus you have to get there early to grab it
99, I think he is just referring to how early you have to get to check-in sometimes to snag your favourite exit seat. Correct me if i am wrong?

Oh right, thanks Highflyer - the colouring got me all confused - I thought it was all a quote.
I always choose the northern side if travelling in the northern hemisphere, and the southern side if in the southern hemisphere. On my last flight to cape town (which travels in both hemispheres and has neither a northern or southern side) I was confused.

This is wierd - I just realised that I have always been on the A-C row on a plane, or the A-C side of the middle row - absolutely never on the H-K side. Bizarre. No, hang on there was one short flight but I only sat in K after a swap after boarding. How on earth did that happen?
