Airbus A350 - Did I miss something?

I'm sure Mike will correct me if my search was wrong ;) but I'm sure I've not seen anything about this specifically to date...

Airbus have a new product called the A350 - in two varieties (ulta-long range & larger pax capacity). Have VS considered it? Does anyone know who else is looking at it? I'm presuming it's Airbus' "official" response to the 787?

Most answers at Wikipedia. The current VS network doesn't necessarily lend itself to the plane, and of course it only has two engines...

you are correct,it is the Airbus responce to the 787,though a little less radical in the use of composite materials.

Hmm, saw this when I looked into those 380 delivery stats maybe a month or two back. I agree it has been a very soft launch with not much chatter, but if I was airbus I would be concentrating on the 380 stuff. Best of launching the 380 and waiting for the comments about the 787 and then them coming back with a 'witty retort' for the 350.
787 and 350 are a couple to a few years off yet right?

350's not due in service until 2010. 787's due in 2008 and according to it's wikipedia entry, has a LOT more orders so far...

Yeah, I am not sure about those composite aircraft. Those pictures show the wings bending an aweful lot... Not sure if I like the idea of that. (Or at least seeing it)

Then sit up front :D

With the way fuel prices are increasing we are going to see alot more use of composite in the future.
