Does anyone have any experience of staying here recently and in particular if there are any decent bars or restaurants in the local vicinity?
Many thanks
Julie

My experience of staying very near to LAX is that its void of anything particularly 'nice' although the hotels themselves are often very good....however some hotels that are a little further away still describe themselves as LAX hotels. Its generally not an area I particularly trust, especially at night !, so there could be some hidden gems I've missed!. I have stayed several times at the Crowne Plaza.... will have a look at my map later at home and see where it is in relation to that.
When are you going?
Kind Regards
Mark

Doesn't even need to be nice Mark-just somewhere with decent grub and beer.Hub has beeen booked there overnight and doesn't particularly want to drive anywhere as he'll be tired -looks like he'll end up with roomservice!
Thanks

I stayed there in December 2004 en-route to Mammoth Mountain - VH use this hotel for all people flying in for skiing holidays in Mammoth as its a 5hr+ drive after a long flight.
It was alright for what it is, I remember us having a meal in the restaurant and it was okay. But then I wasn't massivley hungry after shovelling food and drink in my cakehole in the LHR CH and during the flight.
Thanks,
Richard

Thanks Richard-He's down the back of the bus (so no nice grub and no clubhouse breakfast to fill him up beforehand) so will be ravenous by the time he gets in to LAX.

I'm staying here for 2 nights at the end of May so I will feed back on my experiences, though reports on
http://www.tripadvisor.com are a bit of a mixed bag [:?]

Jacq- Mr DL is back from his jolly (says it was work).Said the hotel was fine(typical airport hotel-nothing flash- clean-corporate blandness). Not much in the vicinity but there is a "beer bar" in the hotel with a resident "beer meister" .

Cool, thanks! As long as there is a Victoria's Secret within the vicinity!
