I am looking ath flights between the UK and Boston fro december.
Virgin UC, BA, American and Continental are all "cartelling" at aropund £2,200 per person.

The joint KLM/Northwest airlines price however for their buisness class is..... £1,089!

can anyone think of any reason why I should not book this instead of one of the cartels flights??
I know that VS UCS is superb, but worthb an extra 50%, some £3,000 for the three of us??

Hmm - for me, it wouldn't be that VS' product isn't worth an extra £1,000 - it'd be that NWA's product is so BAD, I wouldn't pay £1,089 for it in the first place... [:I]

(There's a reason they are referred to as NorthWorst... [:w])

Having said that, if their new business product is installed on the aircraft you'd be using, it'd certainly change my opinion of the value...

Classic World Business Class will continue to be offered on intercontinental flights using Northwest 747-200 or DC-10 aircraft or KLM 747-400, 767 or MD-11 aircraft. Information subject to change.

On their web site they say:
The New World Business Class has been progressively introduced on our 747-400 aircraft. This process is 100%* complete. We are pleased to offer this new and improved product for your enjoyment on our 747-400 aircraft and Northwest's new Airbus A330 aircraft.

* New World Business Class is available on intercontinental flights using Northwest 747-400 or Airbus A330 aircraft or KLM 777 or Airbus A330 aircraft. Classic World Business Class will continue to be offered on intercontinental flights using Northwest 747-200 or DC-10 aircraft or KLM 747-400, 767 or MD-11 aircraft. Information subject to change.

So it all depends on what they use on these routes...

Yup - that's what would drive my decision. Do you know flight dates/routes? We can look it up...

Or you could split the difference and go ex-AMS, including Virgin UC LHR-BOS, for £1593;)

Ahhhh- Do I smell a formal status match from UA for old NWA FFPers? UA does not charge there premium status people for exit rows.

To be clear, I believe the issue Richard has raised is detailed here. However, it does not apply to business fare travellers.

Premium travellers (FFP members) have access to "preferred" seating in coach, FOC. But all passengers pay to request exit rows (again, only in coach).

Correct Paul, I was passing comment in regards to your NorthWorst comment :D

If you're looking at NW biz, I'd save the money and go VS PE or better still spend the money and go UCS![8D]
