In one word - STUNNING
We arrived on the 21st to this incredable hotel. Everything is amazing from the standars rooms , to the service , to the restaurants, simply 10/10. I have now stayed in quite a few hotels on the strip and I have to now admit Steve Wynn once again has put up the ante by building a really beautiful hotel with no gimmicks or such things , but by deciding the next best thing for vegas is simply 6* resort , no bull****.

I know the Bellagio is still an amazing hotel but I believe Mr Wynn knew how to kill off the competition by once again being very different.

No doubt his second tower (currently under construction) will bring Wynn to the top level in room numbers and I wonder then maybe will the hotel in size take away from the sheer luxury but I doubt it.

We met him one evening while we were having dinner in the country club steak house and congratulated him on his resort. His reponse was to buy dinner for the 12 of us and say "wait til its finished".

One of our friends was lucky enough to be staying in the tower suites in room 5901 - It must have been 1500 sqr feet - stunning rrom with its own bar etc. If anybody can afford to soen the extra few €s I saw book the Wynn.

After a rough start the Wynn is starting to hit it's stride,my wife loves the poker room, think old fashioned country eatate reading room type thing, very classy.

Just as a note, when the 2nd tower is finished it will be the 6th largest hotel on the strip.

Haven't stayed there, but rather liked the quirky, spiral escalator leading down to one of the bars - the outside one, with a waterfall outside and statues in the water. Also spent some time watching people playing - a poker tournament, I think (it was next to the snazzy car place) - seem to remember there was a screen displaying the average amount being won....

Spent some time trying to work out how high the word 'Wynn' must be - started off by working out how many windows/floors it covered - oh hell, then I gave up![:p]

I'd love to stay at the Wynn when I hit Vegas in November, but a quick check at the prices online makes it pretty pricey indeed. Is there a cheaper way to stay there, through an intermediate, or is booking direct with the hotel the only way to go?

Stay midweek and book a standard room, it can be as little as $199 per night which I think is a fantastic rate for a 5* hotel. Though I haven't stayed yet I'm about to book for an October trip.

Porsche911, did you have a tower suite with a strip view ... any other comments on the rooms and preferences?

Slinky - No stayed in a standard room over looking the Golf course and the Stardust on the 26 th floor. It was really nice .
However we had some friends from Texas who booked the tower suites - Room 5901 - It was amazing - View of the strip - huge living room with 50" plasma - stand alone bar - huge bathroom - its own massage room - dining area - we had a party one night with over 20 people in it and there was still room - however they charge over Û6 for a bottle of heiniken so we went to a local off licience with our cabin luggage and bought a 4 cases of cases (it worked our at 75c per bottle - saved us over 500usd for just taking the time to get a 10$ return taxi and using our heads
