Loos and blankets

Tripadvisor have done a survey on what we want most from an airline. 35% of the 2300 who responded wanted "clean and roomy loos", next with 27% was "pristine pillows and blankets". I assume not for use in the clean and roomy loos.

Overall BA was voted best for inflight food and amenities, Singapore was second, American Airlines worst. Virgin were second for amenities. Cathay and Emirates were highly rated.

We heard a thing at work that the new thing passengers are doing on long haul flights, if they need a smoke, is holding their head over the loo bowl and smoking while holding the flusher, as 'apparently' it sucks the smoke out into the lav system.

Now I'm not a smoker, but I'd have to be damn desperate to stick my head anywhere near an aircraft lav.

Kinda off-topic I know, but you made me think of it with the bigger loo's comment...

You have to wet the blanket first....so I am told...still not a good idea, take some nicorette with you, nothing seems to get a flight crew bent out of shape quicker than a smoker. [n]

A roomy loo? I'm nearly six foot and have never had a problem with the size of the loos!! It must have been people a bit wider voting.....

Seriously though i think the loos do their job quite well!! And i imagine if they were to make them bigger the airlines would simply cut back on leg room.

Extra leg room would be on the top of my list, as well as just generally having a comfy Y seat that you can actually sleep in without getting a dodgy neck after!

I think the loos are a bit pokey - I'm only 5' 2" and of quite slight build, but I do find it a bit cramped in there. Disappointing to find that UC don't have more in the range of cosmetics too [:#]
