V-Flyer

I know this kind of thread comes up all the time on boards.
I want to do some good dining when I'm in Vegas where do V'Flyers suggest.
Went to Picasso last time and thought it was nice (apart from being way too jetlagged). guess I'm looking for somewhere thats posh, but no too posh - if its too posh, my brother may just moan about how much its costs.
Was thinking of Aureole in Mandalay Bay, but if anyone else has good suggestins would love to hear it.

Circo in Bellagio

Has all the class of being a Bellagio restaurant, overlooks the Bellagio fountains (at the bottom end of the restaurant) but the menu caters for more simple pallettes in addition to refined ones, and its not expensive either.

The menu is Italian influenced and serves a wealth of dishes, combining homemade pizza and pasta options with with steaks and seafood, and even foie gras and black truffles. The mix of dishes is done remarkably well. They have a fab dessert selection too!

Prime in Bellagio is one of our fav's but we also very much enjoyed Fleur de Lys in Mandalay Bay.[y][y][y]

Neither of these are as expensive as Picasso or Renoir and both have a bit more atmosphere and are more lively venues.

Many others still to try methinks

Don't forget Mix at THEHotel at Mandalay Bay.

You might want to ask Buns what his name for Aureole is (in fact you might be able to guess!). That might remove it from your shortlist.

I really liked the Eiffel Tower restaurant at Paris when I went there - excellent food, and the apple martinis are to die for

It will be interesting to hear Dave (our Vegas moderator) address this question: I know, for example, that he speaks highly of The Palm. As for Mix, I've now been twice and find that the food and service have slipped; the view can't be beat, however, unless you can wangle a ticket to the private Foundation Room at the Mandalay.

Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill performed beautifully on my visit last May. Aureole has an amazing wine list -- and, shall we say, a unique way of fetching the wines one buys -- but I'm not certain I'd make it a "must" visit. Emeril's Fish House and Delmonico are both good. Todd English's "Olives" at Bellagio is enjoyable with a good wine list.

The Wynn Breakfast Buffet. Reason alone to go to Vegas. They have everything and more. The Buffet is about 300 feet long and is all quality.

Hi Dean, my recommendation would be AquaKnox at the Venetian. Been there three times now, consistently fantastic

Honestly guys and gals,getting me near the strip on my off time requires an act of god or some V-Flyer's coming into town,however we did just eat at Del Friscos,the service was very good,the steaks were great,the price [:0],though I find most resturants outside of Vegas have prices that make me go [:0].

Everyone who attended the V-Flyer social knows I love Fellini's,the food is great,the service is well let me put it this way,old fashioned,the waiters know what we want and how we take each meal so there is no messing around.

For steaks we try to stay off the strip,N9NE is very good,though the music can get annoying,The Charcoal Room at the Sante Fe Station is very good,great steaks and very good service,be warned on wed night they have a jazz band playing,good music,but again it's a noise thing for me.

It all comes down to taste,one thing im going to be going over with Pete at some point in the future is a whole resturant sub section as there are just so many good resturants out here.
