Are they doing another spree of random postings?
Haven't actually stayed at a Hilton hotel and have a blue card, but a Gold one arrived in the post earlier

Not sure how useful it is though, but it's my first gold one.

Very useful bit of plastic, stayed at hiltons quite a lot in the last 12 months and have generally been upgraded to exec floor and even a rather nice suite in SFO.I have held a hilton Au card for a number of years but this will be the first year I will actually earn it,maybe even get to diamond.

t'other half has a Hilton Gold Card and a quick flash when checking in usually earns an upgrade, so can be useful, I guess it depends on how often you stay at Hilton Hotels.

I have to agree with Jaguarpig I've had a Au, card for quite a few years and whenever I stay at the Hilton, I've always been upgraded.

1 card for the basic member Once only for 1 year.
Hope it works tonight at LHR Hilton currently on 3 out of 3 upgrades to exec floor here this year.

I got mine from AMEX platinum, but will actually retain on my own back this year.
I've found it very usefull indeed. Sure, they get more of my custom now but if staying somewhere and I have no idea of a specific hotel I want I'll always plump for Hiltons.
Pretty much every stay been upgraded to a better floor or suite, including the free breakfasts for you and guests. Most hotels will always welcome you back on subsequent stays.
Good card indeed.

Again when we were in the Millenium in NY with my family (five of us on three rooms) they extended the complimentary breakfast to the other two rooms as well. Was very impressed.

Just got back from the Caribe Hilton where I had a rate less than half rack (corporate) and I still got put in the Executive Towers with a nice welcome amenity (Chocolates, Fruit and Water) and Club access for free breakfast and (unusually) free alcoholic drinks and snacks from 17:00 to 20:00! The rolling renewal thing says that I need to get 21,00 base points by the end of Mar 2007 to retain my Diamond. This trip makes me a lot more than that so it's looking good through 2008

.
So pleased I switched from Marriott.

Certainly one of the most useful bits of plastic sent out regularly to anybody....
Have had some decent experiences with the HH Gold, for example stayed at Boston Logan property earlier in the month and despite arriving at 8.15am to leave my bags was told my room was ready and invited to use the Executive Lounge on the top floor to get some breakfast

Looking forward to making Diamond this year and seeing if there are marked differences.

Just to add to the list of Hilton Au unexpected treats, the csparker (four of us) family spent a night at the Waldorf Astoria in NY last March on a reward basis, and we all got the free brekkie too.

I've had mine for quite a while now and and made quite a few bookings with it.
My husband got one at the same time and we've never used his - they both expire early next year.
Surprised today find another one delivered in his name with a new account number valid until 2008 - will be booking in his name once mine expires as I doubt I will maintain gold status.
