This will be interesting to see - what with recent comments on V-Flyer too it may be time to think about checking it out, esp. with new seats, AVOD and cabin design.

I read this on another board too, and am keen to see it. Hope they make it a bit more funky and improve FIRST at the same time.
I understand that AVOD is going into the 767's first and then the rest of the long haul fleet ( VS: Take note ), and that the delays in announcing the Next Generation Club World have been due to CAA approval / manufacturing issues.
New catering being brought in on 1st October also [y] which should be interesting... not sure what the details are for that.
Thanks,
David.

The talk is that First is not due to be overhauled until 2008, but it will be interesting to see how VS respond to the new BA J. [:?]

Was talking to a couple of BA people yesterday and although they haven't seen the plans apparently the rumour is they've done away with the back facing seats - although they did warn may not be true as the rumours are running around like anything at BA at the moment.

Having never actually tried CW myself, what do people think of the backward facing seats.[:?]

They're fine - good for chatting but a PITA climbing over the people at your feet to leave.

A bit like trying to get up from a reclined J2000 and then climbing over the person next to you when you're in a window seat...[:?];)

Just did the summer hol flights with BA. I had the backward facing seats and they were fine (then again I like the front rear facing seats on a Dash-7/8

)
My other half did not like the BA seat at all (too narrow for him). I thought they were OK, but they do not have a leg rest, which they could really use for daylight flights. You're either sitting upright or lying flat - not too much in between. It took me a while too to realise the foot stool adjusts up and down too.
Dare I say I kind of prefer UA's Business class seat for a daylight flight over BA's bed. *dons flame proof suit*

What's a J2000? None in VS's fleet?

Backward is quite a nice novelty IMO. It was a very different viewpoint on take off.
Sorry to post a link to
http://www.myairbus/isbiggerthan/yourboeing.com, but this rumour (NB rumour] seemed interesting coming from a BAstafer
Club WorldWell at least an arguement hasn't broken out yet!

Truely awful IMHO. I tried it once in 04 to Seattle and hated it. After an hour I persuaded the CC to swap me for a vacant 'normal' seat on the gounds I was not well [:$]
A bit like going backwards on a train.

Well apart from takeoff and moving on the ground it feels completely normal. Completely different from a train, I mean it isn't as if the ground is flashing past you right beside the window which could indeed make some people queasy.

Feeling queezy is a funny old thing. A lot of it is in the mind, so if you think that you will feel ill facing backwards, then probably you will. But saying it is in the mind doesn't help when it ends up in the barph bag! If you combine it with a bit of stress from the airport, maybe a few nerves of flying, then you may well end up with an unstoppable chain reaction with the take of being the catalyst[:$]
So while everything you say is completely true speedbird, nevertheless there will still be some people who do feel ill in a backwards facing seat.

According to a.net (so this needs a large amount of salt;)) the new seat designs will not be unveiled today or tomorrow as planned. However, this could still all be false info[:?]

Nothing out yet Foz, that Flyer talk know of anyway. Supposedly the staff have been told yesterday and the public announcement will be today. I understand it will be reported
here.
