Mandarin Oriental Hong kong reopens

Marvelllous, the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong reopened on the 28th September.
The website has a few more details than it has done of late, with more information on the bars and restaurants but still no photos though.
I guess they're saving themselves until mid October when the remaining few bars, restaurants and Spa will finally be open. Guessing its on a soft opening until then.
It'll now have a ridiculous amount of bars and restaurants - nine in total - to entertain guests. Good to hear though that the Chinnery Bar hasn't changed!

Looking forward to photos, and the inevitable tripadvisor and flyertalk reports.

Definitely one to stay on the next visit [y]

Doubt we'll be able to get there next year (although I will probably need more trips to retain).
Will expect LOTS of photos and be very jealous :D

My dad happened to mention to the barman how much he liked them (back in 2000 I think)... only to find one arrived at home a week later as a courtesy of the hotel.

Now with the Landmark AND the original back open I might have to stay a few extra days for my 30th!

You should, also the spa at the Landmark is amazing - the two hour time ritual is something everyone should try at least once in their life!

They finally have updated the photos on the MO website of the re-fit. They can be found on the hotel page and a few more on the press photos page here.
The nostalgic photos were nice but its good to see the finished product.

If anyone wants to chip in to send me out there to do a TR I'll be happy to oblige, I take good photos and it'll be for the good of V-Flyer [^]

cheers

Will be worth a revisit - I visited last Sept and was a bit disappointed. Out of the thre MO properties in Asia I visited in the week, the HKG one was the bottom one. Rooms were the smallest - service was good though. I just wish MO wouldn't play the room view upgrade charade game. The Deluxe Harbour View, deluxe by means of standing on the balcony and leaning over and looking to the left to see the harbour....

I think the refit has removed the balconies now though to give more room space. Now the Landmark, now that did look great - If I had known about that, I would have stayed there instead!

Thanks,
Richard
