According to the VS website, VS Amex are offering double miles from 1 Jan 07 to 31 Jan 07 when the card is used at Sainsbury's,BP, Habitat, Charles Tyrwhitt, Avis, Macdonald Hotels and WHSmith.

Sainsburys / WH Smith is good, but can't see myself using the others much.

Is this double on current spend Nick? So double what the old MC users get ... x3 spend currently? Or double base miles?

I stand to be corrected, but I assume it will be double what you would normally be entitled to. If you have the 1 point per £ card, you will get 2. If you have the 2 points per £, you will get 4. etc.

Also in the USA there is a current promo for Green and Gold (not Cent or Plat) cardholders for double points (up to $100,000 in spend) from Oct 1 to Dec. 31, 2006. Pretty good deal as it includes all shops (including all the Big Macs at McDonald's) and ways of spending.

And the jetBlue AmEx has a promo of triple Award Dollars from Nov. 1 2006 to Dec. 31, 2006 on all retail transactions un to $60,000 in spend. Normally 20,000 Award Dollars equals a free ticket but with the promo $6,666.67 is a free ticket ANYWHERE jetBlue flys. OAK-JFK-NAS......

And the best. Free booze on jetBlue. Just flash your jetBlue AmEx and get a free cocktail or wine on board until Dec. 31, 2006.

hmm I've just came home to a letter from MBNA saying that if I change to VA amex I will be getting 2 miles until july 2007 on the white card!

Looks like a good promotion, but 2 questions:

1) I converted from the VS MC to the VS Amex, thus am earning 4 miles / £ until July time-ish. Will my earnings at these companies attract 8 miles / £?

2) As MBNA can't properly calculate and post the miles I earn at 4 miles / £, what's the chance of them executing this correctly? [:(]
