I have a friend at work who is travelling to LA in April, staying 3 days and then off on a cruise.

Does anybody have any suggestions for a good hotel which will be easy to get to the port and good for access to tourist things?

Cheers
Lesley

Is the port in Long Beach?

We've found always found the Torrance Hilton to be satisfactory. Alterntively, you could try somewhere like the Sheraton Delfina in Santa Monica which was good on our last trip there in April.

Stayed at the Renaissance Hollywood last summer, great location for most things inc shopping and dining. Rooms very good, esp if you upgrade (well worth it). Right in the heart of the action in Hollywood (Hotel is part of the Hollywood & Highland Centre).
Red line subway 100 yards from the hotel

Granted a good three quarter hour taxi ride down to Long Beach, but if that's just the destination for the cruise, then with a bit of planning this wont be a problem

As above, I take it you are sailing from Long Beach or San Pedro.

My personal fav is the Queen Mary, but I will warn you, it is not to everyone's taste.

You could also look at the Hyatt Long Beach or Westin Long Beach.

Hi

Thanks for the replies and apologies for the delay in responding, I have been away from work
for a couple of days. I will pass on the suggestions to my friend. Thanks again
