Looks like they have stopped serving the little bags of pretzels on flight's under 759 miles.
FFS UA get a grip, I know it's only a bag of pretzels, but enough is enough.

759 miles?!?
What drove THAT figure? Pathetic. 2.5 hour flight (gate to gate), and nothing at all offered as even a snack? The cabins are going to smell even more of burger king now. [n]

No idea on how they came up with that number.

..and if it's under 413 miles, there's no paper in the toilet, so only 'number 1's' allowed...

I don't think it's a step too far, but I should think that they would have to advise pax at check-in that they won't be served anything. I mean it really is only a cheap bag of pretzels;)

True let's face it, if you are starving a bag of pretzels is not going to do anything, however to me it just shows what the domestic airline industry has turned into here.

Its not a bag of pretzels, its a percieved value - and one that will now be lacking for UA. I hope that if Virgin America take off, they'll revolutionise where current US carriers are flailing.
Thanks,
Sarah

I don't actually think it is a loss of percieved value. Scrooge packs - now they are a loss in percieved value, but I don't think pretzels are the same. Kits actually can be useful whereas pretzels don't do much for either the value of the product or image.
TBH, if all you're getting is a bag of pretzels on a two and a half hour flight, you're percieved value of the product is already pretty low and there's not much that can be done to make it go lower[B)] (having said that, read Bazz's HP/US TR;))
