Anyone else enrolled for this [?]

The UK Passport Service is looking for 10,000 volunteers to run a 6 month trial for biometric verification and facial recognition technology.

I signed up several weeks ago via a link on the UKPS website. Received an email today with further instructions. I'm always up for new technology especailly if it helps reduce ID theft.

You have to ring up to make an appointment at one of several locations in the UK.

Once the 6 month trial has finished all biometric data received will be destroyed and the trial biometric ID card cannot be used for any other purpose at any time.

If anyone else is interested in taking part in this trial PM me with your email address and I will forward you the email I received today from UKPS.

Regards

I noticed at MCO they were taking photos and finger scans of all US citizens

I just went straight though without either..

Hi James

They announced this trial on the news when the US VWP/Machine-Readable-Passport/Visa Required info hit. Asked them about it then and no-one knew anything about it (typical [V])!

So, YGPM :)

Cheers

Michael
