Hi

Any suggestions for a good hotel, well placed in the centre and suitable for a wedding anniversary??

Thank you
Lesley

What about the Clarence Hotel in Temple Bar owned by U2?

This site may be of help. Scroll down for the hotels.

Porsche911 might be able to help as he is Dublin based- I'm not

Stayed at the Westin Dublin for work once - Very nice hotel and good food to boot! - 2 mins walk from Temple Bar and the town centre

Stayed there back in 2001, so time may have changed things, but we enjoyed it greatly at the time. Not flash, but things were "just so" in terms of linens, towels, furniture, service, toiletries.

Periodically they have mini break style offers; you can sign up to be notified of these by email.

Hi Boyle - It all depends on what you really want to spend to be honest - There are some new fantastic boutique 5* hotels only five minutes from the centre that are amazing and there are the usual 5* hotels as well such as the Shelbourne (due to reopen sometime this month ), the Four Seasons + the Merrion - all 5* delux - for something really different , this hotel is 5 mins from city centre - http://www.dylan.ie/ - its so cool

Another vote for the Westin. Right in the middle of town next to Trinity College. Superb hotel and great SPG recognition too.

One thng about the Westin - At night where it is positioned in the city , It can be a bit dodgy to be honest. Its nearly on O Connell bridge and the area has become a mess at night during the weekends with the overflow of drunks after closing hours from Temple Bar. Just my feelings to be honest - The hotel itself is beautiful but its just where it is that I dont like.
