Can't find what month it is, but for the white VA Amex card, when do the normal spend revert from the present 2 miles per £1 to 1 mile per £1?

From the Virgin money white card T&C....

...Until 31 July 2007 you will earn 2 Flying Club miles for every £1 you spend on your card (offer applies to spend on up to £10,000). From 1 August 2007 (or earlier if you have spent £10,000 using your card) you will earn 1 Flying Club mile for every £1 you spend on your card....

Am I right in thinking you will still receive double points for every £1 spent after that date for VS and VH.

Yes, the link above to the T & C explains it.

I didn't get my full double miles this month - only half. What are MBNA playing at this time? Have called them and they are 'looking into it' - huh...... [:(]

So, the age old question - what will people do when this reverts to the 1 = 1 rate?

Cry. Or switch cards.... I'm largely underwhelmed by the number of places who do not take Amex....

Cat it's probably because you hit the £10,000 mark halfway through the month.I looked at my statement when the same thing happened to me last month and then realised what had happened.Bill that arrived yesterday was all £1 a point[n]

Rapidly approaching the same point - any steers on another card that offers >1 mile per pound spent?

Cheers

Is that possible? I hadn't thought of that... I suppose the only way I can check is to go back over my statement since July/August last year (whenever these cards started) and add up. I didn't think I'd spent that much [:I][:0] - if so, then I revert to single points per mile spent, if I remember correctly? But - er, is it at that point that I qualify for a companion flight then, or am I totally confused and that's at £15,000????

Forgive the brain, it had another birthday to contend with this week you know....[|)]

Spending £10,000 is easy to do Cat! The £10,000 spend entitles you to the upgrade voucher (although there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to when these actually reach your account as some arrive immediately after qualifying spend, and others on the anniversary of the account) but the companion voucher is for a £15,000 spend.

Thanks Dragon. I had a quick look at the terms and conditions, but it wasn't clear if the upgrade voucher is for a limited period? I think I read the the companion thing has to be done within 12 months, but not sure about the upgrade bit. If I have indeed reached the £10,000, how does the voucher make itself known? Does it show on your card account or flying club or by email? And I assume it would be a case of not being able to use it online, as I think i read the magic words 'qualifying flights' somewhere in the blurb? Has anyone here managed to use one?
