Bellagio Lake View or Venetian (Venezia Tower)

Am becoming totally obsessed with my search for hotels [:?] for our trip next month.
We already have a reservation for a Venezia Tower Suite at the Venetian, which I can cancel at the last minute.
I have been looking at some websites today and have found lake view rooms at the Bellagio for approx the same total.
This would not be cancellable as it is through United Vacations.

Using their US site it's cheaper that UK site [y]. Don't ya love the exchange rate [:o)]

So now I am in a quandry ? Which would you go for ?

Important factors are:

- Location
- Good breakfast options
- A view
- Nice room, comfy bed and spacious bathroom
- A nice pool where we have some hope of getting loungers [|)]
- Not too stuffy. ie. they won't look down their noses at us ;)

Can anyone advise ?

Many thanks

Have stayed at the Bellagio a couple of times, yes it's a very nice Hotel and Casino with good facilities. Would I go back there? well no, not because of bad service or anything like that it's just I prefer the southern end of the strip these days as it is 'slightly' less frenetic.

The MGM Signature gets good reviews and I have always liked 'THE hotel' at Mandalay Bay.

If I did have to choose between the Venetian and Bellagio it would probably still be Bellagio - Just

We have not yet stayed at the Venetian, however we have stayed at Bellagio on several occasions. Bellagio, Wynn and Four Seasons are five star rated properties, Venetian is four star rated. Ratings do vary depending on which sites you are using to evaluate these hotels.

To be perfectly honest, there is little to choose between them, those of us, myself included, that have been fortunate to visit Vegas a few times, have our favourites but most of the major resort type hotels offer pretty much the same level of service and accommodation.

I would suggest you simply pick the deal that best fits with your requirements - you can have a look at the others whilst there and make an informed decision for your next visit.

LTH -we syayed at the Bellagio for 6 nights back in November.Location is good, rooms are nice, views over the lake nice but overall it was a bit of a disappointment.Too many non residents milling about (the lobby was a heaving mass most of the time),no priority entry to eat in the Cafe for lunch/breakfast (we had asked repeatedly for line passes).Pool area is nice with lots of loungers but there are lots of voyeurs (non-residents)who stand out on the verandah oogling the pool area so it feels like you're in a goldfish bowl.Wasn't too keen on being swiped in and out of the pool area by security either (although I can understand the rationale for such a process)- it felt a bit too Big Brotherish.Customer service wasn't great either and several staff were bordering on rude (the call from management to deal with this failed to materialise even after my second call). While it's nice there are probably better places to stay in Vegas at present for comparable money (and as it's not cheap you want it to be better than just "nice").

Have you thought about the Signature at MGM Grand? Have a look at the 1 bedroom suites there - superb service, huge bathroom (and second bathroom with shower, wc, sink), its own kitchen area, big living area. Well worth the money.
Each Signature tower also has its own pool but you also get access to the main MGM Grand pool area.
Highly recommended.

Hi Andy

It does look good but how does that compare in terms of location ?
Prices are coming up nearly as much as Venetian and Bellagio for our dates.

Thanks

Location-wise it's a 3 minute walk to the MGM, via a moving walkway.
One of the things I like about the Signature is that is away from the noise and smoke of the casinos.

MGM is down at the Southern end of the strip - maybe 10 minutes stroll from the Bellagio fountains. Centre strip can get very busy so location of the MGM is IMO better.

Other Casino's close by the MGM:
New York New York
Luxor
Mandalay Bay / The Hotel
and the very naff Excalibur

We came down to these same two hotels as part of our agonising hotel choosing process last year. Went for the Venetian (Venezia) in the end. Why? Suite vs. Room-with-a-view, and the suite won. Bellagio will give you a nice view, but from our research and experience, the all suite environment of the Venezia Tower is a bit more 'special'.
