Check thru baggage LAS - LAX - LHR

Hi -

I'm in Las Vegas for a few days before flying UC out of Lax ON 17th on VS024 which departs 20.50.

Not as yet booked the flight out of LAS - LAX.

Any advice on airlines for the LAS - LAX leg - and also if it will be possible to check my bags thru to London. As we're UC on Virgin we're likley to have a bit of luggage!

Also - in terms of lounge accesss at LAX - I gather it's the NZ lounge as there is no clubhouse.

Is it any good?

Just want to make the best use of my time in Vegas for a relaxed departure and to not spend hours and hours in LAX without the pleasures of a clubhouse.

Any advice or suggestions welcomed

thanks

Andrew

Hi Andrew

As your LAS-LAX flight is not on the same ticket as your VS flight, I'm afraid you will have to collect your bags and re-check in at LAX. You will not be able to check them through to London. It's explained here Sometimes you may be lucky and get someone who will do this for you at check-in but generally speaking "the computer says no"

I had US say yes in Dec, they are in the same terminal as VS as well.

I have used the Air NZ lounge a few times and have found it to be just fine, clearly not the same as a Clubhouse but nevertheless one of the better lounges in the US (IMHO). Its far better than the old Air Canada lounge used to be !

Cheers and have a great trip

We also had US say yes in April, in fact they offered after asking if LAX was our final destination and we explained that we were connecting to VS8, we were also on seperate tickets for the two legs.

I did however forget to say that we still had to go to the VS desk to get the clubhouse pass.
