Just how much CAN you like a hotel?

I just booked a 4 night stay at The W, Montreal. Have to say, my "mega" room looks very nice [y] (Even if the bathroom is part of the bedroom - all very "funky" apparently, including the escort to reception by "bouncers" when you arrive)

Anyway, on the confirmation email is a link to "The W Hotels Store". Intrigued, I clicked through, only to find the weirdest thing I've seen for sale by the hotel (but alas, not surprising).

So, some people buy (or steal) the robes. Some people want the slippers. Some pocket the toiletries, or ask where they can be purchased from. But, the BED? [:0][:?]

Marriott have done the same thing for a while; I think it started out with a marketing campaign along the lines of "our beds are so comfortable you'll want to take one home with you".

To some extent I can understand the mattress - as a road test a few nights in a hotel beats lying on one in John Lewis for two minutes - but it seems slightly spooky that you would want to furnish your bedroom at home just like a hotel room. Mind you, I do spend more nights of my life in a hotel room than at home so perhaps for consistency's sake...

I believe you can purchase Sheraton's Sweet Sleeper bed in most sizes.

You could always buy a bed from the Savoy's own workshop.

I'd quite like to buy a Malmaison bed ... one of, if not the, most comfy beds I've slept on.

Yep, the story goes that guests kept asking where the beds are sold, so in the end SPG decided to make some money and sell the things...and yes they are very comfortable.

Why is the CAN in the thread title in upper case? I would think LIKE would have been a better option.

Hmm... Because it's the word I was trying to emphasise. ;)
