LAX Overnight Hotel Suggestions?

Hi folks,

Might need to stay overnight near LAX during a trip in October - mainly because some bright spark suggested having a meeting in ABQ which starts the day after the Balloon Festival. So, I need to stay somewhere close and hop over to ABQ on the Sunday morning.

Current plan is to LAX in NZ Premium Economy and then hop a UA flight down to ABQ next day.

Anyone got any favourites/recommendations a mere hop, skip and jump (well, okay, a <5 min shuttle ride) from LAX?

Apologies if this has come up before, but wasn't getting anything useful through the search.

Thanks,
Mike

This thread and this one, should help.

I like the LAX Marriott Renaissance , mainly because they are next to each other, close to the Dollar Depot, and I can have drink on the plane, and can pick the car up the following morning. [8D] Though this won't help you much, if you are flying out.

Last time we were at the LAX Marriott, they were filming Smokin' Aces and the whole lobby had been turned into a casino! :D

Odd. Because I fed the search engine the words "LAX Hotel", and was surprised when I didn't get anything useful back, as I could have sworn it had been discussed before - though I feel like I've been around long enough now for it to have been archived. Maybe I didn't search far back enough.

Now, this sounds like a plan, as with ANZ you get the same wine choice in PE as the Business Premier cabin, as I recall. Mmmm. NZ wine...

Probably go for one of the Marriotts, Sheraton or Westin, as that's where I have most of my hotel loyalty.

Thanks for the links, and any other suggestions welcomed. The only reason I'm asking is that I used to stay with a friend who lived in Venice if I was stopping over in the area, but she moved recently, and while I've friends in the area, none are quite so convenient for LAX.

Also if you don't mind cabbing it there is a very nice little resturant about 5 mins away called the Buggy whip, great steaks etc.
