What do you think of Jet Blue?

I am going to book Sarasota-Bradenton to JFK for 26th Nov before linking up with VA to fly home. I plan to get the 13.35 ( I think it is).
What are they like?
Do the seats get booked up really quickly?
What is their record for punctuality?
Any info would be appreciated
Thank you in advance R-P :)

What do I think of jetBlue? Simple. Ever walk off a plane and HONESTLY think "Wow, I did get value for money!" Well that is jetBlue.

You have free XM satelite radio and live satelite TV in every seat (well radio is not on all planes yet).

Selection of about four or five snacks that are somewhat healthy

No BS airline. So no interlining delays. Cockpits are top notch.

First 10 or so rows of the A320 have more than 36 inches of legroom and the rest of the plane has atleast 34 inches. jetBlue is all one class too so this is Economy. Beat that Virgin.

Also jetBlue is one class with no class (elite) system in their FFP. Everyone is equal. Really does help; no my 'belt' is longer (especial in and out of NYC and IAD).

And most of all..... For jetBlue AmEx cardholders you get free booze on board. Well worth the $40 annual fee.

Flew with the carrier last year on a trans-con from JFK-BUR and will never do the same again. However, I would still consider flying jetBlue on a one hour flight, though could not stomach another five-six hour leg.

Could you let us know why you would not fly jetBlue again?

Hi Roxy,

I have to agree with Benjamin on this one. I first flew Jet Blue back in February of this year (there is a TR lurking about somewhere for that) from BDA to JFK.

You get to pre book your seats, so if you book early enough you can bag the seats with the most leg room. I was really impressed with having seat back TV and live programming for such a short flight, around 2 hrs. They also served Dunkin Donuts coffee which really impressed MrG!

I have recently joined their rewards programme, which is called TrueBlue as I have a couple of upcoming flights with them. I certainly think you should give them a try:D

Surly FAs, worse ground-staff and a terminal that left a lot to be desired. However, it was cheap and I suppose you get what you pay for.
Having said that, I would like to try them ex-LGB which is definitely superior to LAX in its way.

I flew with them from JFK to LAS about 18 months ago, and I was more than happy with the flight and service.

We had about a 45min delay, other than that it was excellent, and I would use them again.[y]

One thing you have to remember is that they are JFK based.

JFK = delays

That of course is the same for every airline..just something to think about though.

Flown from Orlando to Boston on several occasions with them and they're everything that everybody has said and much more :D

You see this is what Vf is all aboutD

Fellow Vf-er's giving me all the low down I could possibly want.

You are all STARS[^][^][^]

I don't have a choice of airline as Jet Blue is the only airline that I can see that goes direct from Sarasota-Bradenton-JFK unless any of you whizz's can point me in another direction.
I shall book next week & hopefully be in one of the rows that gives me a bit more legroom.
I have already joined their loyalty scheme;)
Thank you all for taking the time to further my knowledge[:X]

So if you get the jetBlue AmEx you now get 50 TB point so thats half a free ticket. Also note that jetBlue's free tickets are not mileage or segment limited. So you could use one free ticket SFO-JFK-BDA or OAK-LGB and it is just one free ticket

Jetblue is a pretty good 1-3hour flight airline. Beyond that the plane is too cramped for my liking. Their service is much better than Southwest.

B6 are most def on my list of carriers to fly- from what I have read here and on other boards they come across very much like DJ in Australia/NZ.

As for SRQ-JFK you are correct Roxy in saying its only B6. But there is another alternative:

Why not fly Continental up to EWR and then connect onto VS into LHR (persuming you are connecting onto VS)- you will even earn miles for your troubles.

Of course the other main option is the 45minute drive up to TPA and connecting onto any number of flights to New York. TPA and SRQ are in my view both equally good airports from a passenger point of view.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Will fly SRQ as my friend will drop me off as we will have been staying at her condo on Lido Key & she is staying out there for another couple of weeks so less hassle for her.
I have already booked JFK-LHR rather than EWR so that I can enjoy the clubhouse because I have never even flown or seen NY before & the general concensus of opinion seemed to be that the clubhouse at JFK was better than the EWR one.
Plus I thought that to catch the last flight out of JFK but getting into NY 4.30ish would give me plenty of time to enjoy the ambience.

However, if I should do this trip aagin, (as UC 'G's were not available on the date I wanted) I would certainly consider your really good options.

Thanks a mil buddies xx[y]

Flew JFK - BUF - JFK last October with Jet Blue. Would definately use them again [y], we booked quite early and got the exit row so acres of legroom, the other rows are pretty good too.

Managed to watch live Champions League football but one warning - avoid the blue coloured crisps.[:$], they had it right in Bridget Jones about blue coloured food.
