A friend works for ITA Software. Says it's a damn good company, with some very cool ideas.

Thanks for the link. An interesting read.
I liked the follow up that pointed out the value of time to the traveller isn't factored in; possibly because for some companies that's the employee's time (still got to put in your contracted time at the client) and therefore has no value to the employer who's paying the airfare.
It may go some way to explaining why our travel agency system inevitably presents to a colleague flying Newcastle - Southampton/ Heathrow, as preferred-choice-please-explain-why-you're-not-taking-this, a routing via Amsterdam.
