Your Dream Destination ... ?

Many of us here are quite seasoned travellers, but even those who have managed each of the 23 or so VS destinations must surely have places they dream of going to one day, so where's yours?

Im still young so i plan to get to places like Tokyo and Sydney in the near future, but there a couple of destinations that i may never make it to, even though id love to.

I would love to go to Easter Island, just for a day, to explore the culture of the Rapa Nui and see the giant sculptures, as much as i would love to go to Tonga and go diving with the Humpback Whales that visit during the summer months. These are places that are a bit extreme, but id love to visit them. I also want to see the Rio Carnival in Rio de Janierio and the annual migration to the Masi Mara in Kenya

So where would you love to go? What would you choose if money, time-off and other concerns were not a problem?

Hmmm, Amazon rain forest for starters.

I've heard good things about the following:

Iceland
Cambodia
Chile

Since Life is for experiencing I thing anywhere can be a dream destination as you've not been there before!

That's assuming you embrace local cultures of course!!:D

I'm really looking forward to my asia/aus trip as I've never been that far east!!

I suppose thta mine would be Necker Island with a few v-flyer chums thrown in good measure. Now that would make a good social;)

Talking of which (as I am never going to afford Necker anyway) I would be more than happy with the riverboat cruise as planned as i found the inuaguaral social a brilliant evening.

This might sound silly but I'd love to go into space and see the whole world from up there :D

Wasns't there a frequent flyer program that offered a space trip for 1,000,000 miles or so [?] Now that's nothing to aim for.

Regards

It goes without saying that VS Socials are dream destinations:D[8D]:);)

I'm with Buns, Necker Island would be great but at c. £7K per head for a week assuming we could take the whole island I don't think we will make it either.

Mitchja idea has appeal too, but Mcuth wouldn't come unless there was a bar on-board ;)

Good topic :)

Destinations on my radar for the next 10 years are places like Hong Kong, Tokyo, China, Sydney, Christchurch, Iceland, Canada, Jo'burg/Cape Town, Brazil, Mexico. Would love to re-visit Egypt at some stage and wouldn't mind venturing over to Russia too.

Space, the final frontier? Well, I'd go if a) there was a bar (Bazz - too right - I'm not going to miss the opportunity of it not mattering if I can't walk straight :D) and b) 7 of 9 was going to be around ;)

Suppose my dream destination though is somewhere like the Seychelles, running a beach bar [8D]

Cheers

Michael

You're all going to think I'm a loser but my dream vacation is one that my wife and I take 4-5 times a year and one to a city I've been to probably 100 times (used to live there when I was 3). New Orleans. Nothing amazing about the place, but it's only a 40 minute direct flight from where I live, you can get good hotel rooms cheap, more bars than you can drink at in a lifetime, great food, a casino, place to buy lottery tickets, you can carry your drink on the street (in the Quarter), and most importantly, I like the place because I have a past there, be it a good memory or a bad one. One day my wife and I hope to get a weekend place down there. We go to a bunch of other places, but whenever we return, we're always tired. When we return from New Orleans, we're always rejuvenated.

As one who hasn't traveled a great deal other than for work, I'd like to see just about anywhere. Some places have a higher priority, however: Asia (Tokyo, Bejing, Bangkok, Singagpore); Australia/New Zealand and the rest of Europe (the wine regions of France, English countryside, Vienna, Prague, Amsterdam all hold interest).

Has anyone broached the idea of an V-Flyer tour to a VS destination?
Wouldn't it be fun?

There's been talk about having a V-Flyer Social over in LAS - think it's some way away yet and only the idea's been floated, but it'd be a right laugh :)

Hi Decker!

My wife and I were there in May and will be back in August. I can assure you that wasn't us on that balcony as my wife makes sure we always avoid Bourbon Street! ;) The last time we walked down there at night I'm afraid she saw something, shall we say, that quite upset her. [:0]

Interesting ;) Mrs D was wearing a fetching blue hat and for a time all we could hear from the balconies was "blue hat - blue hat". Needless to say she knows the value of beads and thus was unwilling to cooperate in the way requested. We wondered whether perhaps those who cooperated only did History 101 and learnt that you could buy a small island with enough beads? :D
