Just in case it's of interest to anyone, on Page 41 of today's "Independent" there's an offer to spend a day at Manchester Airport on October 14th with MyTravel Airways for £160. Included in the day are

- taster of crew training
- taster of flight planning, ops and engineering
- presentation by a pilot on flight planning
- 55 minute flight with full commentary on flap seetings, thrust etc.
- a simulated "missed" approach with flaps and undercarriage down

Sounds quite fun. Has anyone ever been on something similar ?

Can't find it in the online edition...

There's been a few of them this year and they seem to sell out well. Whether Thomas Cook Airlines will continue to do this after its merger with MyTravel after November remains to be seen, but they will be fools not to, considering the demand for them.

I've been meaning to do one of these for a while but other issues keep getting in the way, oh well!

Taster of crew training? Oh the desire to see exactly what they do train them.
