Chicago - how do I pronounce 'Huron'?

Apologies for the obscure question - off to ORD on Sunday, renting an apartment on E Huron - anybody here know if it's said 'Hoo-ron' or 'Hu-run' (as in like 'hurry')? Don't want to give the cab driver the double confusion of an English accent and mis-pronouncing our destination!

Thanks :)

Yep. Like hurry without the ry plus on (like "turn the light on").

Errr....after checking with a native Chicagoan--he says it's pronounced, "HYER-ON"- as in yer mate-haven't been able to doublecheck that though with any member of the 4 Huron Native American tribes though....I believe it is of French origin.
