Not done Heathrow before and already planning a Miami trip for next year:)

There are a number of hotels along the Bath Road - not sure if any of the could be described as Gucci, though.

I tend to have a look at
Holiday Extras, if I am looking for a deal with parking. If I am going down by train, I tend to look at the Starwood or Marriott websites, as they often have good deals.
I haven't stayed there, but the Hilton is the on site hotel, and I assume offers the best views.
I am not a Gucci person, but of the ones I have stayed in near LHR, I would have no problem recommending :
The Park Inn
Sheraton
Marriott
Radisson Edwardian
Even the Jury's Inn was okay.
I didn't like the Renaissance, but that does offer runway views.
If you are staying on the Bath Road, and want a good meal - the Pheasant is the V-Flyer venue of choice.

Sheraton Skyline always seems to be popular.

I use the Hilton at T4 however I wouldn't describe it as Gucci.
It's expensive, the rooms are okay, the bar and restaurant prices are also expensive and it's full of business travelers (hence the silly prices as they usually end up on someones expense claim). If you are staying mid week I would guess you may get a £170ish room rate.
However it is right there at T4 so if proximity is important then its perfect.

I also would check Holiday Extras and see what offers they have available for your dates. Most if the hotels are a good 4*, I often stay at the Park Inn and have a RZGP card which seems to always get me a room upgrade.
This thread from a while ago might help also.

My vote goes to the Radisson Edwardian they have some very nice suites. If you book a Honeymoon package direct on their web site you get chauffeur transfers to the terminal, 15 days car parking, a bottle of champagne and chocs plus a full english breaky. The last time we booked a junior suite for approx £250 we were upgraded to a very nice full suite that should have been over £600.The main restaurant Henleys is also worth a visit. No runway views but neither has the Hilton. We tend to stay at the Hilton more these days for ease of access to T4 but the rad is a far nicer hotel.

IIRC, EGG, we held a V-Flyer event here a year or so ago. The room, bed, etc. were all fine. Luxury it's not, but staff was very nice and it's close.
Plus it's walking distance to the Pheasant and they served us a good meal, plus more than enough libation to float a ship.[:$]

I have booked the Hilton but have heard its a rip off and that its anyway a long walk anyway from T4. Should I switch to the Sheraton Skyline or the Radission instead? We go out from T3 on the Saturday morning so by the time we walk from the Hilton to T4 and then to the Heathrow express / them to T3 from the station !!! All sounds as long as gettng the bus to/from the Sheraton / Radission. Some body please point me in the right direction. I will be with 2 other guys and we will want to stay where the hotel has a popular bar etc . Is there in fact a good local bar within walking distance fomr the Sheraton? Is the bar in the Hilton any good at all?
Thanks,
Keith

Not sure if this is a permanent thing or not, but the LHR hotel hopper bus now drops you off at T3 arrivals (in the bus station area around the back) so it's a further 5-10 minute walk to get round to T3 departures.
I walked around the outside of arrivals, past the exit doors from T3 arrivals, towards departures as I wasn't sure if you can actually get to departures from inside the T3 arrivals area [:?]

The Hilton bar is expensive and the service is crap, last visit we ended up walking out.If you get an executive room there is a free bar from 6pm-11pm.There is nothing close to the Hilton its sandwiched between the airport and a dual carriageway. When departing from T3 I book into the Radisson and get a taxi to the airport for £8,I only use the Hilton when we depart T4.The Rad has a nice bar(Polo Bar) gets quite busy in the evening. As Nick said earlier in the thread the Pheasant is a short walk if you want a real pub.
