The BBC reports that from March 2008, there will be an 'Open Skies' agreement between the two countries.

Can't really see VS or BA benefiting too much from this in the short term before any new aircraft deliveries but may open up the way for SQ to fly Heathrow (if they can get the slots)-New York which they apparently have been wanting to do for years.

SQ LHR-NYC.....yes please! They may be the first to offer the A380 on that route!

If/when SQ split from VS, I can definitely see the carrirer operating LHR-NYC.

45 is correct- I cant see SQ starting LHR-NYC whilst VS is on the route and they have a share in the airline. After all SQ are very instant that the two airlines do not compete with each other. What is surprising is the lack of an SQ codeshare on NYC services.

Will be very interesting to see what SQ do- after all they have direct services to NYC as well as though that route through Germany. I wonder if the SIN-NYC routes have enough pax to warrant three daily flights?

Perhaps the Germany-NYC leg may move to Washington or another eastern city? What's the *A coverage FRA-JFK like should SIA change the route? LH still fly it but do UA?

Excellent- SQ and LH fly it and numerous times a day I believe. I guess SQ's decision on ex Germany to US flights will depend on what EK (and QR?!?) are doing.
