Why does a fixed wing Captain sit in the left seat and a Helicopter Captain sit on the right?

Tradition. There is a thread on A'Net concerning this..damned if I can find it though...throw it out there for them..once the flamming stops who know's you may get the answer [?]

Nothing more, a friends husband is a captain for US..he flies from the right seat, thats what he is used to...and it's his plane.
