Silverjet have announced that for this week only, in order to help us get over the RWC loss, if you buy a return ticket to DXB they will give you another free. Travel before September 2008 and book by Sunday.

It is unclear if you could use the free ticket on the same flight, so you buy a ticket and partner or friend flies with you for free.

Dates in April coming out at about £1000 return.

And btw for those of you that missed it here is the very clever Silverjet advert which played during the RWC final- I think they have taken over VS in the marketing tongue in cheek adverts.

I've been looking at this too so I called them and you can't actually travel with someone and they go free, you get a free ticket for a future flight in your name. If you need to go to Dubai again, you've got about a year to fly so it's still a pretty amazing deal. I've flown Silverjet to New York, very nice. Hard to beat Virgin Upper of course. Used to fly that way a lot when someone else was paying.

Did you see the lesbian Silverjet ad on YouTube?

looked at this offer myself, wasn't planning on a trip to Dubai but thought I couldn't pass up this offer. I called to double check the T&Cs and was disappointed that you can't use the free ticket for a second traveller......disappointed but never mind....if it sounds too good to be true......

although it's a good offer if you plan of going twice before Sept 08

Oh darn, didn't catch that...turns a decent offer into a pretty naff one IMHO.

Whilst taking a shower though a silly thought did pass through my mind.

Would Silverjet and Maxjet not make good FC partners ?

In one sense - yes they would - but give it a year or two and they will begin to compete more and more on the same routes, so its unlikely that they will become FC partners. Maxjet are planning LAX-DXB currently and on a recent Maxjet flight, the flight attendant suggested they may start STN-DEN pretty soon.

According to this article they'll be the first airline to fly out of the private aviation terminal in Dubai which is where the sheikhs park their jets:
