Claiming Virgin Cr Card Rewards

I'm about to receive a Virgin Black Credit Card and wondered if anyone has yet claimed the free companion ticket for spending the required £7.5K etc. If yes, what's the process?

Thanks.

Once you have met the required spend it will then show on your FC statement on the VS site, you can then use it when making a booking (usual reward/companion t&c's apply)

Mine never shows this - you may need to call them (MBNA) to 'force' it onto your account...

This has just showed up today on my account!
12 Nov 2007 - VAA Credit Card Companion Flight Qualification

No prompting this year - I'm still in shock after the fight I had last year!

To get what put on?

Have you reached the required spend to gain a companion flight? If yes, and it doesn't show on your FC statement then just ring MBNA (the 0800 number on the back of the card) and talk to them about it.

To use your reward, give FC a call and they will sort it.

In terms of using the Amex "free upgrade" and "free companion ticket" offers, I have a couple of specific questions;

1) For companion flights the documentation refers to "Qualifying flights" does anyone know what the definition of "qualifying" is???

2) Similarly on upgrades, there is reference to the effect that "discounted flights" don't count - again, anyone know what "discounted" means in this situation?

Thanks.

A qualifying flight is as defined in the t&c's on the VS website here. You basically need to have the paid fare in a qualifying class, ie J, S, W, Y, B, L to use the companion ticket.
