Never really considered this before but this question comes off the back of 2 questions I was asked at Immigration at Orlando recently :

1. When were you last in the U.S.A. ?

2. How much money do you have to support yourself on this trip ?

For the record I have been to the U.S.A. 4 times this year, and planning a further weekend in January.

Wondering if i got quizzed as my Green Visa Waiver form from Septembers visit was still within the 90 days ?

I've been asked the first question on one occasion when it was our third (I think) trip that year but I've never been asked about the money

Was asked the same after our second visit in March but nothing in May or Sept.

Was asked precisely the same questions when we arrived at MCO on Wed - and this was only our second US visit this year.

I've had those questions before too. There have been many a time when I've entered the country again within the 90 day period of my previos last visit via VWP.

When I said I only had $100 they were a bit worried, until I said I had various credit cards too. The most blatant question I ever got was at MCO too, 'Sir, are you carrying any drugs?'

I too was asked the same questions ealier this month on arrival at MCO[:?]

The interesting thing at Orlando this time was that the passport was stamped before it was scanned and finger prints taken, and before the questions !

I'm wondering if they're checking API as the whole process took no longer than 30 seconds

The only questions I got asked at MCO the other week were about the purpose of my trip to the USA [holiday], length of stay [10 days] & and if I had more than $10,000 in cash on me [I wish].

When my now-wife used to live in the US and I would go to see her four or five times a year, I would keep track of the number of questions I would be asked at immigration. Can't remember the entire sequence, but from memory, it ended ...3,2,1,10,0. Always weird when you don't get asked a single question. It seemed to be the case (from a small-ish sample) that the scarier-looking the immigration employee, the more likely you'll get few or no questions.

FWIW, my shift pattern at the time gave me long-ish breaks every ten weeks, so my trips to the US were pretty regularly about 70 days apart, thus within the 90 day chunks of time you previously mentioned. As far as I can tell - but who knows? - this didn't make any apparent difference.

I've been 14 times this year so far, 15 next week - rarely get asked anything apart from the occasional "how long will you be here". The only time I was grilled recently was at Toronto and the US immigration service there before flying ... actually, it was a proper grilling too!

Arrived MCO last Monday - called thro' the citizens channel so that sometimes means extra questions - but this time no actual questions at all - just a brief chat about the pound/dollar exchange rate. I suspect they just need to have you say something to listen for voice stress. We always chat (even though many say one should not!) and have almost always found immigration friendly - perhaps 1 out of 20 does not respond! 3rd US visit this year

My Visa Waivers validity dates are rarely expired the next time I enter. Never really have a problem. Think I always get when was the last time you were here and then they usually spot the address in Davenport and ask if we are owners at which point they are usually happy. 30 seconds to get through sounds promising though, fingers crossed for my next trip

Similar to Slinky - I've been in the US 11 times this year - always within the 90 days and the two standard questions are - how long will you be here and what business are you in.
