Hi all,

A few Centurion questions.

Came accross this site on the internet:

As it has a Swiss domain name and has buttons for German or French login, is there a seperate, English website? Or is that site for all Centurion members?

Also, saw this picture online:



Does Centurion have a chip now? I've only ever seen ones without chips.

In conclusion, thought this picture was nice 'Black & Blue'

That is for Swiss members. There's a section of the UK site with Centurion offers but no dedicated site yet. Newer cards are chipped like that - have been for a couple of years. As cards are replaced they're replaced with the chip version.

I'm surprised they dont have a black chip

I'm on my second Centurion with a chip on it so its been around for a while now.

That website is for the Swiss customers, password is the first 6 digits of the card in CH 375888.

The first picture looks like the one they used in the BBC article when Natwest Black was launched, it is of a UK issued Centurion Card.

UK Centurion cards since they were launched in March 1999 have had a chip (MULTOS) which actually contains some information about the card, and its benefits. If you were one of the launch (Charter) members, you were sent your cards in a lovely box with details on it, and a small calculator device that 'reads' your card - the plan was to actually push updates and messages to customers when they used their card (obviously with the chip), now this may still happen seen as we are finally moving to Chip and Pin, but at the moment AmEx is in 'follower' status in regards to Chip and Pin. If my local store tries to do chip and pin on my AmEx, it comes up Not Authorised, they have to do the traditional swipe. I have had my card transaction done via Chip a few times.

The US versions of the Centurion Card, do not have a Chip.

The AUS Centurion does not have a Chip.
The magnetic Stripe is also thinner than normal (However does not cause any problems in swiping) Actually Unless you look at the card closely, you almost can't see the magnetic stripe as it blends into the Black

If you actually look side on to a Centurion Card, you will see its one piece of blackplastic, its not a laminate like most other cards (they have a white middle section).

Uk Centurion cards take longer to issue as they are created and programmed off site, they are then sent to Brighton HQ for embossing and dispatch.

And if you are really bored, try holding the card under a UV light.

Interestingly enough I got my new centurion card (replacement for old one expiring next month) thru today

no chip - uk issued sterling..... and the activation line "cant see it" even thou it is valid from 10/4 (gud bud

The only other time i've had a non-chipped one is when they replaced it at heathrow a few years back when i'd forgot to take it to the airport.

change of policy prehaps??
