Skylofts sold out - alternatives?

Hi

I'd like some advice on a high-end-ish suite in Vegas.

Situation thus - myself and OH are spending one night in LV (we have six nights in SFO prior).
I did have a Vsuite at THEHotel booked but would like to treat the OH to something special.
This will be for the night of 18th December - as it's a midweek I'm finding prices are reasonable.

I checked out Skylofts yesterday which had 1BR loft going for $600+tax. Foolishly, rather than booking it there and then, I came back to it this morning to find no availablity for 1BRs, and 2BRs are at around $1200+ tax which is out of my price range (also we only need one bedroom).

Maximum I would like to spend is $800.

So far on my shortlist I have - (all prices ex-tax etc.)

Mandalay Bay Vista Suite (2000sqft) @ $610
Mandalay Bay Media Suite (1700sqft) @ $510
Mandalay Bay 1500XB Suite (1500sqft) @ $510
Bellagio Salone Suite (853sqft) @ $540
Bellagio Salone Suite Lakeview @ $550
Bellagio Suite Lakeview (1020sqft) @ $675
Bellagio Penthouse (1536sft) @ $750

I'd be interested to hear opinions of anyone that has stayed in any of the above suites (especially the Mandalay ones).
Additionally, what alternatives can people think of?

I would like somewhere that has a bit of a 'wow factor'. I have already ruled out Wynn (I really don't like the decor) and The Signature (stayed there twice already).

I have read that THEHotel has some larger penthouse suites but there is no indication of these on their site, or, more importantly, prices.

I'm also finding it frustrating getting info on any suitable suites at Harrah's properties - only prices their site gives me is for standard rooms.

Thanks in advance :)

Contact the Mirage, see if they have any of their bungalows they feel like giving up for a night.

No idea, when the Mirage was 'the' high end place for Mirage Resorts they were VIP only, now they allow reservations in them, but no idea of cost.

Also though the Wynn may not be exactly your taste, the Fairway suites are some of the best in town, with it being a mid Dec date you may be able to get them in your price range, also the 180 suite at the Four Seasons...or amazingly enough the Monte Carlo has a very nice Presidential suite.

The big problem is..none of the websites will show a price, for me it would be the Fairway Villa at the Wynn.

Skylofts with a McCarren view...I hope you get to stay there once in your life! [y] Good luck -- I agree with Scrooge, just cuz he lives in Vegas [:p]

Me too GJA - I'm kicking myself for not booking it there and then! Wanted to stay in Skylofts for ages.
I am waiting on an email from Mirage, also from Wynn with a price for the Fairways.
Will check out the other two options as well.
Thanks :)
Edit to say - 180 suite at FS does look very nice but at $4000 is a bit out of budget!
