Are you serious? They are a member of star alliance and the national carrier of Portugal. Surely you have seen there eurowhite livery- they have a fantastic North and South American operation.

No they operate LIS-MAO daily. So I would guess that it was LHR-MAO as TP dont fly LGW-LIS AFAIK.

TAP do not have a First Class though- they currently do a VS and have only business class.

I would also imagine the MAO flight is operated by one of their older a310's which are being replaced in the next 6 months by new A330s.

Er, they only fly to the United States in North America and even then only have 5 destinations here, it's really not that fantastic.

Although they fly to EWR instead of JFK so that makes up for it.[:D]

True I was thinking they did BOS and IAD as well. They do fly EWR-OPO also which is pretty good for a small city. I am surprised they have the demand.

My fantastic was referring to the South American operation as well. They serve some 8 airports in Brazil.

Sorry, I'm not an anorak, and yes, I am serious. I don't fly any Star Alliance carriers so couldn't be bothered to know who they all are.

Frankly, the only eurowhite I think of with regard to Portugal is Christiano Ronaldo's kecks.

Thank you.

This search seems to suggest it is XL Airways.

XL do have a premium cabin called Excel One so maybe this is what the reporter is referring too. Sometimes you see First Class just being used as a generic term by some people to distinguish another cabin above which they are travelling

very impressive use of searching there 45!

XL seem to get a bit slatted on LH routes- shame as they were a great airline prior to the air atlanta merger. Hopefully with their new 330s arriving in the next year the LH experience will improve.
