Gatwick Hotels

Advice please. Has anyone used the Gatwick Effingham Park for a pre-flight stay + parking package? At 110 it seems to be a fair deal, but would appreciate advice prior to booking. If there are no v-flyers who have used this one, how about some thoughts on a decent pre-flight + parking package hotel? [:)]

PS - can't quite stretch to the Hilton though [:#]

This doesn't really help you, but I would avoid the Holiday Inn, I had a horrendous stay there recently.

I live nearish there and have been past it a few times and it looks fine. I've stayed at the Copthorne Manor a few times thanks to Priceline and always thought it was good.

If you are parking at the hotel, avoid the Copthorne. Last time I used it the inside was caked in mud. Also, look in TheDibb. Other useres have reported damaged cars (dents scratches etc.) missing number plates and even tailgate gas struts swapped.

My parents used the recently renovated Clarion in Sept, and they said it was rather good. They got a rate of £61/night via an Internet Broker, can't remember who.

Would that be what is now the Crowne Plaza ?

If so I have stayed there many times over the years.

The rooms are small, but ok I am used to US hotel rooms, the food is expensive and if I hop over the south wall I am in my nan's back garden, hence the reason I stay there.

I stayed at Langshot manor last year for a few days, rather expensive and not That impressive but they do run good deals every now and again.
