Air Canada pilot taken ill in flight
Posted: 29 Jan 2008, 13:08The co-pilot on an Air Canada flight from Toronto to London, according to the tabloids 'flipped' during the flight and the flight was forced to land in SNN where he was admitted to an acute psychiatric unit.
A report is here. There was a fuller one in today's Irish Examiner but it doesn't seem to be in the on-line version. At no stage were the passengers in danger and the captain carried out standard operationg procedures for when a crew member becomes ill. A plane with new crew was sent to SNN and the passengers arrived at LHR some 8 hours late
