Dot2Dot launch a new service from Docklands to LHR or LGW on Mon 11th Feb. They'll pick you up from your hotel or house, and prices are 50 for a return.

Website here though it doesn't seem to have been updated yet.

Seeing as HEX costs 28 then there's still the schlep from my place to the DLR, change at Bank, then the tube to Paddington, I may try this next time. Anyone tried them yet with their central London service?

Hmm, looks interesting, but from Central London their online booking only appears to allow from a Hotel rather than a private residence.

Yes indeed. This came from a front page article in this weeks The Wharf, so hopefully it's correct. They got their web site address wrong though. [:?]

Wonder if this is partly in competition with BA's recent announcement to operate LCY-NYC flights. Either that or a major coincidence.

I have seen their vans around the Wharf for some time, just didn't know what they did until I read it, so who knows. It's still much more convenient to get the DLR to LCY though, and a lot cheaper, though most businesses pay for taxis, so I doubt most travellers factor that in.* Without any nice business lounges though, LCY isn't an attractive offer as it's normally quite full whenever you go there. Be interesting to see what BA do with their pax and how much it'll cost. Are lounges a factor for business travellers, or is the ability to rock on up to the airport and almost board immediately more appealing? I just have to go with whatever is cheapest.

* My company expect me to use public transport where possible, and fly in Economy, though I refused to go to Sao Paulo unless it was in business! [}:)]

Their web site has now been updated and it does include a pickup from home option in Canary Wharf. Seems I live just outside the zone though, but may use them to get home on my next flight, and get them to drop me off at a DLR station.
