This is the first major/legacy airline to offer an all Business class flight and the first all business trans Pacific flight. Looks like the new J seats will be on the reconfigured A345s too!

LA Times Article

Quote from SQ Press Release:
Singapore Airlines will convert its five Airbus A340-500 ultra-long-range aircraft into an all-Business Class configuration, for daily flights between Singapore and New York, and Singapore and Los Angeles.

The current 2-class, 181 seat, arrangement will be replaced with 100 of the Airlines new award-winning Business Class seats, in a 4-abreast, 1-2-1, layout. Each seat is upholstered in leather, and is 30 inches (76 cm) wide.

This new configuration will position Singapore Airlines as the first to operate an all-Business Class service on the Transpacific route.

Let's hope that the extra seats have allowed SQ to open up I class reward availability on these routes now.

I'm sure a few of us have BMI miles that could be well spent on either of these routes. [:D]

Funny you write that. The folks over at FlyerTalk note that they are not able to get any award seats on these SQ flights in I but only in D. D is the double miles SQ KrisFlyer award. So looks like using BMI miles may not work.

Yep, that sounds about right. KrisFlyer rewards book into D and all other Star members need I availability unfortunately. [:)]

Let's hope it changes. [:D]
