Might have left this a bit late but can anyone recommend a car pick up service at SFO to get to Union Square? Not looking for limo, just town car type. If not is it easy and safe to get cab outside airport?

thanks

Lynne

Taxi's about 40/50 dollars, you can pay by credit card on some, and quite convenient. That said, even SuperShuttle will do an Executive Car service at 60/70 dollars (and there are some promo codes out there you can use), so it's not like you are going to save a bundle by getting a taxi. But the taxis are quite safe, and convenient to catch when you arrive.

Dont forget you can use the Aiport van service, approx $15-$20 to any hotel in the bay area.[y]

A big [y][y] to Super Shuttle from me. Door-to-Door and excellent value.

It has to be said, SuperShuttle and similar services work VERY well from/to SFO, all things considered. It's sometimes a bit of a drag to use them when you're catching a 6am flight and they come 15 minutes early to bundle up different passengers on route to the airport, but otherwise the local geography lends itself very well to these services.

Also worth keeping in mind that BART (local Metro service) does basically a door to door from inside the international terminal to the Powell Street station on Market, two blocks from Union Square, for just over five dollars. Depending on the time of day, just to avoid the traffic, I'd look into that.
