BAA criticised by Competition Commission

The initial report has been published and they'll decide in August whether to break up BAA's monopoly. The report seems to confirm everything that we already knew anyway such as BAA being out of touch with passengers needs etc...

Hopefully they'll shake things up enough to make a big difference!

Todays London Evening Standard has this on the front page. The article suggests that they might have to dispose of Gatwick.

I hear large cheering already in hope!

Yeh it was anticipated by analysts when BAA was brought by the Spanish that a sell off of LGW would happen.

The question is- who would want to buy it? I think MAG would be one of the main contenders.

Southampton may also be sold.

Oh I thought they were going to get rid of Gatwick - not sell it... [:p]

The report should have been entitled 'No Sh*t Sherlock' as anyone with an IQ in excess of 75 that has been through any BAA terminal knows how sh*te they are.

Having had the misfortune of having to spend two hours (thanks to a lack of gate space) at T3 arrivals today I cannot agree anymore. Yes the terminal looks great outside but inside its still the old hole crammed with shops and disgusting loos.
