Yeppie! Wonder how LH feels about this. Could take away from some of the FRA and MUC connections that could go via EWR on CO.

This fills some big holes in the Star network, especially around Central America and the Carribbean.

Great move by both airlines, and I can't see why regulatory approval wouldn't be forthcoming. The CO and UA networks complement each other quite well.

Star Alliance is certainly looking the most complete of the programmes now ... Skyteam a bit left behind?

Whilst I'd rather cheesegrate my toes than fly continental, this can only be a good thing. A shame I now have miles with CO, UA and LH!

However, this will shake up the N. American market. I only hope that the alliance saves enough money to improve the CO products

Well they will be for sure once they merge with BD and have LH take a stake in them. [}:)]

Ok let us look at the other Star airlines in North America.

UA J has a 38 inch seat pitch in J in their 752's
US has a 38 inch seat pitch in J on their 752's
Co has a 55 inch seat pitch in J on their 752's

Also the seat reclines to 156 degrees

Co still serves food in Y, does not charge for the first piece of luggage (yet), has seat back IFE...oh and the youngest fleet of any major airline flying in the US.

Ahh for sure ... however joining *A will cost VS a lot of money - would that be made up by transfer pax?
