Air India Pilots fall asleep and miss airport!

Saw this over on SQTalk.
Link to story on Asia One website.Not sure if this story is the Indian equivalent of an April Fool spoof.
If not, (and if it is true) then it is a little worrying, to say the least. [?]

So how long was it flying for with them asleep? Surely they would have been woken up by cabin crew checking them every 20 minutes if they have the same rules as other airlines. [:?]

It is also being reported that there was a radio problem with the aircraft and the crew followed SOP's, an investigation is being made including the cockpit voice recorder being checked.

Pretty much yeah...I am guessing unless they hear 'the f**king radio is dead' there will be issues..snoring equals major problems.

I cannot see how a coms problem would cause a flightcrew to not only miss their descent point but overshoot their destination by 100 miles at cruise altitude!

Maybe the snooze button was too close to then alarm off button...
