With the ESTA website due to go live on Friday 1st August, there is a sneak preview of the website available now on the CBP website. It's a PowerPoint presentation.

Thanks for that - oddly they don't mandate that you fill in your flight details but do mandate that you enter an address ... in all other regards it is like the current green form but the address bit makes me think you may have to update this for every trip?

Somewhere on the DHS web site there is a Q&A section that mentions that after the intial set up, you then modify your address in the US each time you fly. Oh and, until 12 Jan you still have to fill in the green form even if you have registered.

Q: What is the cost to the traveler?

A: DHS will not initially collect a fee for ESTA applications. When it is determined at a later time that a fee will be charged, the fee would be implemented through the United States government's rulemaking process.

Note the emphasised 'When' - not 'If'

Thanks for the link.

How long are we giving the web site before it crashes, once it goes live on Aug 1st [:?] [:w]

Be intresting to see what response I get after filling it in considering I now have to travel to the US carrying an Affidavit stating am I not the person with the same full name and DOB that is currently on a least 2 law enforcement agency database watch lists.
