Initially this was just the Dublin-based part of the company, but it seems that the Spanish side has filed for administration, claiming that they will resume flights tomorrow.

I flew the Spanish operation once, a shame if they do founder as they seemed a pretty good operator

I remember flying Futura once when our Virgin Sun charter flight a/c ex MAN went tech and they used a Futura a/c instead.

Just more signs of the tough times ahead, although thankfully the price of fuel does seem to be slowly creeping down.

From what I am hearing they will stop flying for 24 hours only (strange move in my books) and will restart ops tomorrow.

Futura Gael's closure is being blamed for the collapse of Seguro Holidays, a company I used to deal with years ago. They were excellent and it's a shame that an independent tour operator has bitten the dust.
